TeleNav Your Way Out Of A Wrong Turn
January 13th, 2008Have you ever found yourself lost and you’re already running late so it’s even more frustrating. So you steer with one hand, duck down and reach over to the back seat looking for the map, barely seeing over the dashboard. Only to realize, that the car in the lane next to you is honking their horn because you’re drifting into their lane. I know we’re all guilty of this. Who has time to figure out where you are on a map especially when you’re on vacation, visiting a different town or state. Well don’t worry those days of hitting the steering wheel pissed off, are over.
Now with AT&T and TeleNav, it’s easy to navigate where ever you are. I accidentally stumbled on this little navigation jewel when I recently bought my phone. Depending on what phone you get, in my case the Blackberry Curve, you can get GPS built in, if not there are portable GPS receiver transmitters available. Some that mounting on to your car, much like a XM antenna, or some that attach directly to your phone. For $9.99 a month for unlimited routes or $5.99 for ten routes you can have your own personal navigator ride shotgun.
TeleNav is an awesome service, giving you voice directions at your fingertips. If that wasn’t enough TeleNav also acts like your own personal yellow pages, it lets you locate restaurants, gas stations, ATMs and other stores. Recently, I was trying to find a Panera Bread but didn’t know where one was, so I clicked on the “Biz Finder” feature and, instantly it gave me the address, phone number and the distance, SWEEET! I’ve played with a bunch of GPS programs and devices but this one by far is the coolest and most functional.
